ARUNACHAL PRADESH
Nature has bestowed it's plentiful bounties on Arunachal Pradesh, India's land of rising sun. The evergreen forests, the virgin floral and faunal varieties, the turbulent streams and roaring rivers meandering their way through deep gorges and lush green valleys, the inspiring mountains, and snow clad peaks - all make the state a unique place offering the tourist numerous opportunities for rafting, hiking and mountaineering.

Arunachal Pradesh finds it's mention in literature such as the "Kalika Purana" and in the epics of "Mahabharata" and "Ramayana". It is believed that sage Vyasa meditated here and the remains of the brick structure, scattered around two villages in the hills north of Roing was the palace of Rukmini, the consort of Lord Krishna. The sixth Dalai Lama was also born on the soil of Arunachal Pradesh.

TAWANG, a Buddhist pilgrimage site is where the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetans, goes to preach and pray. The most striking building in this Buddhist village is the tall central monastery, the Tawang Gompa. The 400 year old monastery dominates the valley with a grand view of the Himalayas. The Tibetan influence here is unmistakable, with the elaborately painted wooden windows and other motifs. Prayer flags flutter in the breeze and inside about 500 lamas light lamps, rush about their chores and drone in joint prayer. An 8 mtr high gilded statue of the Buddha is here, as are numerous ancient Thankas or traditional paintings and manuscripts.

Day 0 : Guwahati - Tezpur
Arrival at Guwahati and drive to Tezpur 181 km / 4 hrs drive, evening check into hotel Luit for an overnight stay.

Day 1 : Bomdila - Tipi
0700 hrs after breakfast departure for Bomdila the district head quarter of West Kemeng District altitude 8500 ft. 160 km / 6 hrs drive. En route visit to Orchid Research Centre at Tipi. Aka and Bhugun trivbal village, Nag Mandir, a Hindu temple, Rupa Valley, a Sherdukpen tribal villages. Evening check into hotel / Tourist Lodge.

Day 2 : Thembang - Rahung
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek to Thembang altitude 7200 ft., 18 km trek. The first day of the trek is little tough and hard because Thenmbang is located in the top of the hills is every step its increase of one feet height. The main trek start from Rahung onward a 20 km from Bomdila which has to drive by coach, after crossing Salari river. Thembang is an inhabitant of Monpa tribe. Evening in the camp.

Day 3 : Semnak
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek to Semnak 15 km altitude of 6900 ft., a small village inside the jungle. The second day of the trek is easy and plain one can reach in right time. A dense tropical forest one should be case of specially leech. Evening in the camp.

Day 4 : Chander - Lagam
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek to Chander via Lagam 18 km altitude of 9000 ft. This day also little tough. Chander is a small village of Monpa tribe and also is a Base Camp for Mountaineering. Gorichen and Kangto, where one view the peak if weather is clear. Chander is a famous forhearding of Chongrey a kind of animal neither cow, buffallo, sheep and yak which gives milk, you will find more than 500 Chongrey in and around the village, it is also located in the top of the hill. In the month of January and February this place is completely covered by snow which last till March and April. Evening in the camp.

Day 5 : Gorichen - Namshu
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek to Namshu 14 km altitude of an 6800 ft, a downward trek, Namshu a biggest village of Monpa tribe in West Kameng District. Evening in the camp.

Day 6 : Sangti
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek to Sangti valley 16 km altitude of an 5500 ft, Sangti valley is a famous for sheep breeding farm (high altitude sheep farm) one can visit. Evening in the camp or Government Guest house.

Day 7 : Dirang
0700 hrs after breakfast, trek for Dirang 12 km altitude of 5500 ft, reach early afternoon hot lunch at Dirang. After lunch local sight seeing in and around the town, Hotel water spring, Local apple garden and Dirang Basti Village. Evening overnight stay at Government Tourist Lodge.

Day 8 : Tawang
0700 hrs after breakfast, drive to Tawang 160 km / 8 hrs drive by coach. En route visit to Tsela lake on 14000 ft, near by Tsela pass, Nurnang water falls and high altitude fish farm etc. Evening check into Government Tourist Lodge.

Day 9 : Tawang
0700 hrs after breakfast, full day sight seeing in and around the Tawang, Museum, Emporium and Local Market, Tawang Monastery, Anee Gompa where lady monk are looking after the temple. If time permit visit to Peng-Teng-Tso lake, 32 km from Tawang. Check into Government Tourist Lodge.

Day 10 : Bomdila
0700 hrs after breakfast, drive back to Bomdila 180 km / 9 hrs drive. Evening check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11 : Guwahati
0700 hrs after breakfast drive back to Guwahati and check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12 :
After breakfast transfer to airport for onward journey.
